Hi Larry,

Thanks for the input. I did read this information by Smoky. What it doesn't address is the lubrication for the driven end of the shaft (nearest the engine). There is no o-ring seal there, and a grease would, I think, simply fly out of that area. That is why I am thinking of using Honda's "Moly 60 Paste" (60% molybdenum disulfide) for the splines on the driven end. That should work. I suppose it could even be used on the slip joint on the other end of the shaft, but I probably will go with a Moly grease. The grease I am thinking about using is Amalie "Pro Tac Plus," a 5% Moly Grease. My impression after talking with a "grease tech" at the Amalie company was that this particular grease is very good stuff. The last time I grease the slip joint (last summer some time) I used a 3% Moly grease, and there was plenty in the slip joint when I disassembled it this time. My guess is that was probably about 9K miles ago.
