  • Does anybody really believe SJ will have any sensible money to spend? With a real promotion opportunity in our pockets, we finished the last window still needing the play Ream and having Cyriac as our only real striker knowing that wanker Martin wasn't up for it. With that sort of Chairman you can only realistically expect more of the same. (NT) -- South London White, Monday, March 20, 12:16:48pm (49.43.7.51.dyn.plus.net/51.7.43.49)
  • I believe he will be supported but agree about about the last window. I believe this was a little more difficult trhan we all imagine. The fact that Jokanovic has signed gives us some indication that he may be. (NT) -- Alboy, Monday, March 20, 12:30:29pm (host90-152-10-226.ipv4.regusnet.com/90.152.10.226)
  • I think now is the silliest time to be trumpeting this line. No offence meant really.. I think we will spend this summer, Im sure not to the satisfaction of many. Kahn bought a ferrari, let Tony take it for a test drive last year and now has given him his own set of keys, the 'gas' card in the glovebox! I was declared rose-tinted in the extreme for suggesting it likely we will speculate financially this summer long before Tony's little interview, almost to the point of suggesting I have a screw loose. Maybe it is because I have some knowledge of American culture, but it seems obvious to me. If we get promoted expect a very big spend, but not ridiculous. If we dont, then expect moderate speculation and a priority on keeping the best of the squad together but absolutely addressing 1)Squad depth 2) Striker and 3) Central Defence - 100% confident. • Only if we sell first - and that would probably mean Cairney going. Otherwise I suspect it will be more loanees and free or modest purchases. (NT) -- Bexhill Beast, Monday, March 20, 01:13:36pm (host109-146-188-81.range109-146.btcentralplus.com/109.146.188.81)
  • SLW you and I have a pretty similar view of Khan. That said young Tone made some very clear and strong statements on that podcast on both squad strengthening and the Riverside even using the word "promise". This is a departure from the Jim Woodcock penned double speak that senior Khan has pedaled for years. If there isnt significnat spending in the summer than I have to say even would be surprised, especially as senior has given Tone the gig very publicaly. None of this excuses the myriad of past mistakes, bs and Tone claiming January was a 'strong window'. (NT) -- WayneKerrins, Monday, March 20, 02:05:19pm (NoHost/194.178.124.236)
