Vietto was lambasted for a missed opportunity on Saturday, yet the miss by Babel - which was far more straightforward - passed without a murmur, neither was Babel's awful piece of defending which almost gifted a goal to Jones commentated on.
Back in the 1950's Haynes was considered to be one move ahead of his team mates. I believe that the same comment can be applied to Vietto. On Saturday he played a give and go with Babel, continuing his run into a vacant spot in the penalty area and indicating where he wanted the ball to be played. Babel chose to pass to Bryan and the opportunity was lost. Several times in the second half he had the ball, and was looking to make a forward pass but there was no player in a position to accept,so he had no option but to pass sideways.
Of all of the loan signings that we have made I have Vietto as one of the better ones and it amazes me that there are posters who prefer the Agricultural Kamara to the refined Vietto. Incidentally the Mail reporter at the game scored Vietto as our best player.I make him about right.
