Subject: These Days

Many years of disappointment peppered with occasional happy days of Black and White was a regular 3 pm slot of Saturdays where half cold meat pies, hot Bovril and sometimes a long train ride past everyone's back-yard and more became a fact of life washed down by amber nectar and the company of cheerful fellow Fulham supporters trying to keep out of grief and spending a more than reasonable part of time and income on their choice of club.

The ball game is different now. There is a choice of many top class leagues. One annual subscription for live action on a monitor costs a similar amount to one live entry to a football ground. All sorts of very many costs are additional and game day also timing is all over the place. Her at home is justifiably more demanding and a club forum opinion voiced is greeted with aggression and foul attitude.

Fulham till the day I die but fully aware of the fact I have to look after my personal interests and that I can also enjoy the game at the local park. Call me a tourist when I rock up at the Cottage or perhaps San Siro or Suncorp, I will be happy to wave goodby.
