Subject: When does he stop learning? Over 100 appearances now. Yes, he is still young, but does that give him a pass for criticism over his performances? At what age are we able to treat him like other players?

  • I’m talking about effort here, putting a shift in, tracking back with the full back. Age and experience should have no bearing on this, if anything you’d hope the exuberance of youth and that sess has played a large amount of senior games at left back would contribute to the defensive shift he puts in. How can you play left midfield and consistently let old man zabaleta constsntly run off you?? (NT) -- ...., Thursday, March 14, 12:29:46pm (5ad6497b.bb.sky.com/
  • I think the clue lies in the other part of your statement, he’s already given us some great moments. Allied to the fact he’s come up through the age groups at our club he definitely has credit with supporters, which is fair enough, but for me you have to judge on what you see, here and now. Surely hours worked (ie appearances in senior football games) are a far more accurate representation of experience and therefore a players development than what it says on their birth certificate?
