Subject: Message for Drobe

I did respond to your last message but the thread has now been deleted - not sure why other than it dealt with issues that have been discussed thousands of times already on these pages. What I tried to say was that - yes of course, in a sense you are right, the facts speak for themselves. But the reality is that the Khans bought into an industry they did not really understand. SK himself admitted this and said he would be relying on the experts and holding them to account for their decisions. My understanding is that, particularly in that first season and a good part of the second, most of the strategic decisions were made on advice of existing hired hands/experts. So yes, bad stuff happened on his watch but I do think that others within and around the club were more accountable than SK for that relegation season and the poor following season. I am no apologist just someone who finds that c 60% of the daily content on this board being a regurgitating of the same old stuff with zero new interesting or insightful perspectives not only effin boring but also joyless and energy sapping. The past is a different country - yes bad decisions have been made - yes the monte carlo or bust approach to transfers a year ago in hindsight was daft (although felt less daft at the time) , yes I would have liked another CB this transfer window - but there are signs that at least some of the lessons have been learnt and i would rather focus on whats around the corner than bang on ad nauseam about the sins of the past at least until the next transfer window.
