Subject: No, i'm with you. I thought fleabag was exciting at first as it was quite fresh and energetic, but then i realised i was just going with the flow too much and there were too many emotional/psychological holes in it. I started Killing Eve with a bit of doubt, and it never once went away (even though it was average viewing otherwise). I gave it till the end of the series. No idea how it was the number one show in the US in 2018. There was one comedy scene where the guy dies in the Berlin club and Eve can't get to him through the crowd. Awful directing as she bounces around on some revellers shoulder. People must not need for things to make sense. A strong female lead might be enough these days to win people over. My friend stopped watching at the end of season one too. I worry for the new James Bond (same writer). The Americans are lapping up PWB though atm

  • It's always diminishing returns though isn't it, on any series. The Wire, Blackadder...can't think of many other series where the second series was as good as/better than the first. Currently rebingeing Breaking Bad, that gets in too (NT) -- McNulty, Wednesday, May 20, 09:26:35am (host86-180-90-103.range86-180.btcentralplus.com/
  • The Likely Lads? As for Blackadder, a second series could hardly fail to be better that that weird opening series that was frankly, a bit of a mess! (NT) -- -, Wednesday, May 20, 10:32:48am (NoHost/
  • Bolam might play it down but They Likely Lads’ was superb. Not only funny but a pretty true picture of how we grew up.Perhaps you need to be able to identify with a comedy for it to really resonate.Surelt the last series of ‘Blackadder was the best.I even liked the first series. • I've started many box sets, but have only ever percervired with 2 shows until the end. Breaking Bad and The Sopranos. 2 fantastic shows (NT) -- Jimmy Hill's Chin, Wednesday, May 20, 11:57:59am (remote.surreygolf.org/
