Subject: The importance of a target man

Remember back in January after the Villa game? A lot of people asked the question as to whether we were better without Mitrovic as the rest of the team were, apparently, better without him. Then we had Charlton and that theory got kiboshed. The problem is that we play Mitrovic as a focal point of the team, a target man. Against Villa we played Stansfield who made us look better just by being there as a TM #9. Against Charlton, Decordova-Reid was very poor as a striker because he was not a target man. Against QPR at the Cottage we had Kamara, and if we don't have him today we are in a spot of bother.

Hence, I would drop BDR tonight and start the following XI (4-1-4-1):
Rodak; Christie, Odoi, Hector, Le Marchand; Reed; Knockaert, Cairney, Johansen, Cavaleiro; Stansfield.
