Subject: Past schedules?

At the risk of sounding impatient, which I'm trying not to be, I'm wondering if past candidates would mind sharing a rough idea of exam schedules at past exams? Do they usually follow a similar format or does it change completely from exam to exam?

I'll start with what I know! October 2006 in Toronto had some candidates teaching Thursday evening. I had the written and music on Friday morning, own dancing Friday afternoon, and solo/ceili teaching on Saturday morning. I think the teaching sections were all throughout the day on Saturday, and then the mini-feis for ADCRG candidates was on Sunday.

Anyone else?

I didn't get my schedule until a week or two before the exam. It seems like they had several groups with two or three different schedules. I had parts on Thursday and Saturday, with Friday off. I think we did written and music tests first, with a break in between. I think I did teaching in the morning, then dancing in afternoon. I remember that the schedule was well planned out and organized, didn't feel rushed or like I was just sitting around. To be honest I enjoyed the whole process. Good luck!

[> [> [> May exam experience -- inside, Wednesday, July 23, 12:46pm

I received my confirmation/exam schedule about three weeks before the May exam this year...

I was scheduled for Written/Music around 4pm on Thursday followed by a training on working with children, and a brief history of Comisuin by Dr. John Cullinane

For AD candidates- the Maths exam was held after this, probably at 8/8:30pm

I believe that some of the AD candidates might have also done their own dancing portion on Thursday night as well...
Most of the TC candidates did their own dancing on Friday morning- one group from 9am and another from 11:30 am

Then the Irish candidates had their Gaelic Language Exam after the dance portion

There were practical teaching exams scheduled for Friday afternoon and evening, as well

Practical teaching continued throughout the day and evening on Saturday...

The mini feis and interviews for AD candidates were held on Sunday

My own schedule was:

Written Ceili Exam and Music- Thursday 4-8ish
My own Dancing- Friday morning- 11:30-1pm
Practical Teaching- Saturday evening at 7:15pm

Please note that everyone has a slightly different schedules!

To be on the safe side, you should probably book your room in VA for the entire length of the exam- you can always cancel the nights you don't need as the exam gets closer
