In reply to: Tilde, Out-of-Market Talk Radio Enthusiast 's message, "Anybody catch Phil Hendrie the last couple of nights (790 WAEB 10P - 1A)? He's doing a straight show during the war, and doing a great job of it; kind of like a mellow, reasoned Michael Savage (who precedes him). If the comedy schtick 'gets old' as some here have opined, Hendrie would have no problem going straight, though he claims he doesn't like to do a straight talk show. Hendrie alleges he's a Democrat, but he makes a lot of sense. Oops." on 17:39:57 03/25/03 Tue

I agree Hendrie is worth a listen even when he is doing his schtick. Jeez the state of talk radio in Philly is terrible! I am listening more and more to WABC. Their line up is so much better than WPHT. I am Philly born and bread but I am sick of the self important Smerconish and the stale Katz and the irrelivant Rollie James. You ought to give a listen to Batchorler and Alexander (WABC 10PM to 1AM) They are proven political writers, one a Repub and one is a Dem. Nothing on PHT compares. The only program I like on PHT is Coast To Coast and they loped off an hour of it to accommodate the blowhard O'Reilly and the boring Rollie James.

[> Phil Hendrie: Phil is not on at 7:00 on waeb, they have been running Michael Savage, the savage nation, from 7-10 followed by Phil from 10-1 btw Savage is a great addition to the waeb lineup -- Mitch, 01:16:57 03/31/03 Mon
