No attorney will ever convince a judge or a jury that a person suffered damages to their career or public standing based on some random comments on a webboard that how many people read? There would have to be an established pattern of the most heinous accusations to even rise to the level of defamation that's being alluded to in that frivolous suit against Howard Eskin. It's attorney grandstanding at its worst. The opinion from Pseudonym Uck! about local radio biz people were not libelous in the least. If you think so you need to seek better legal advice.

[> [> [> One problem with the legal system is that, although no lawyer might actually win a case like that, there are too many who are more than happy to take their clients money to try, forcing the poor schmuk on the other side to hire his own lawyer, who makes a lot of money out of it too. If you are sued, you lose, whether there is a case or not. Both lawyers win. Were I in Surf's position, and my hobby got me into legal trouble, I would get another hobby. Not worth it. -- Sam (Bucks County), 07:28:20 07/31/03 Thu
