After finishing in the Top 5 of Miss World 2016, Catriona Gray is setting her sights on Binibining Pilipinas, which sends representatives to Miss Universe and other international pageants. In an Instagram post on Monday, Gray shared that her Bb. Pilipinas bid “was in no way planned.” “Are you ready for it? Today marks the reveal of an evolution of self that has been quietly happening away from the public’s eye for a little while now,” she wrote. “Sometimes the stars align to make things happen,” she added. “Maraming salamat sa inyong tiwala at sana samahan niyo ako sa aking bagong paglalakbay.” Her post had the hashtag #CatrionaBBP2018. In an interview with reporters, Gray revealed that she will go independent in her journey to Bb. Pilipinas 2018. She was previously under Aces and Queens, the same camp that trained Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Miss World 2013 Megan Young, and Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa.
