There's more than one kind of love. There's love of self, love of a place, love of a ideal, there's the kind of Familyal Love that exists between siblings, parents, and children, there's the kind of platonic love that exists between friends, there's the romantic love that it appears OSIRIS feels for Hav', there the Soul-Completing Love that you and Amanda or Jes and I share, and there's the love of brothers-in-arms, commonly called Comradeship.

Just sounds to me like you were suffering from a case of Comradeship. It isn't uncommon for soldiers who have trained together and have gone through hell/war together to cry and show the other symptoms you mentioned when one of their own falls.
