I think a class action law suit could stop this nonsense from continuing.

About one year ago, I began my quest to find a reputable agency in my hometown, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Instead, I found Model & Talent Management (or Aquarian Associates, or the Great American Modeling Search, or.....you get the idea). My oldest daughter, who is 10 years old, wanted to enter into the modeling/acting industry. Being very hesitant, I agreed to give it a try. I do not wish to go into detail about this company, but I have done EXTENSIVE investigating, and I am mortified at what I have found. PARENTS BEWARE!!!! I have attended numerous interviews with these people who want money for pictures, model searches, videos, you name it. I have yet to meet(or hear from) anyone who has received work from this company. It also appears that they have moved around several times, changing their name, AND their employees. I have also done some snooping around national and local companies trying to find out who uses talent from this agency. Needless to say, NONE of them do! None of them have ever heard of the agency! The only thing I was told, was that if you are ever asked for money, it is a scam.

My daughters dreams of becomming a model have been put on hold. I will continue to research this company, and hopefully help out some unsuspecting parents. My advice to everyone is to read the other posts. There are many others who have horror stories to tell. Think about what you read, and use your common sense.

that I thought there was a firm getting a class action suit against them. It was a magazine news show.
If you had truly had a good experience with them you would have posted your name giving your post validity.

Don't worry you'll find them. I myself I am 10 years of age going on to 11 but sorry I may not tell you my birthday. Just pray. Good Luck.

I recently attended an open casting call in Overland Park, KS with my four year old for Aquarian . They took a digital photo and we filled out a one page form. We then received a letter of invitation to a "parents only" meeting a couple of weeks later. i just returned and was doing some research on the net because i learned that this was all truly about "The Great American Model and Talent" Search being held in LA this year. I listened to their presentation and then came the answer to my question. They wanted $485 today or tomorrow with credit card or money order in order to put my child in their search. The fee does not include airfare or accomodations. In fact, parents attending have to pay an additional $55 each to attend the event. If paying by check, the cost went up $40. I saw most people leave without paying but some stayed. I really wish people would get this information out on the net or in the news because I think these people are taking advantage of many people and most importantly, children.

These people are theives. We did their model show case in Los Angeles, My daughter got a job for an ad in a magazine. We did that and we never got paid for it or got a copy of the ad nor did we see it in a magazine, that it was suppose to be in.
When we contacted them regarding this, we never heard from them, it was always leave a message, leave a message for a call back. Never got the call back.
Low and behold about 2 weeks before the even in Los Angeles the following year, we get a phone call. We have a shoot for your daughter to appear in a magazine ad, but you have to come to the convention for us to give it to you. I told them no way, they wanted me to pay for the event again, 2 weeks was not enough notice to get tickets to Los Angeles and I was not going to pay for the event again. I also told them about what previously happened, I also told them that if given the opportunity I would tell everyone I knew what thieves they were. About 1 hour later I get a phone call from the director(we call him, the snake oil salesman) We will pay for your tickets to Los Angeles, and entry into the event and for the hotel. All you have to cover is new photo's and we will give you the information for the photo shoot. We went to Los Angeles, did the photo shoot, got paid for it, never saw it in the magazines they said it would be in. Tried to contact the company that the shoot was for, could not find an address or phone number for said company. Tried to call Aquarian again, got shoved into voice mail. never have gotten a phone call back. However I will say that we are signed with 10 other agencies in Los Angeles and New York and have gotten plenty of work from them and never 1 time have we paid a fee to them or attended a mandatory fee to a modeling convention. Please don't waste your money. The old rule applies "If it sounds too good to be TRUE it is"

It almost seems impossible to find a really good and TRUE audition, agency, or anything anymore. People are wanting to go into the industry for all of the wrong reasons. I want to because im in LOVE with the craft, and the production and behind the scense things that most people never see. Most want in because they want to fame and fortune, and thier "15 minutes in the spot light" I dont want to be a fade in and out entertainer i want to be one that can test time, and make a difference. I know that there are at least 20 "agencies" in my area that are completely fake. WHere has everyones morals gone? To go so far as to hurt children, and people, just to make some money? its sick...
