Hi Me Myself,

I'm Thomas' mom. (You knew I would read this, Thomas!) Thomas does a pretty good job with cleaning the birds, BUT it could be better! (And you know what I'm talking about!) It seems that kids these days use the word "yell" when their parents are simply instructing them to do things they already know to do! (Birds need fresh water every day!)

If you keep your bird population to a minimum, you should be okay. It's not a problem to clean one cage and provide food and clean water for a couple of birds. But more birds certainly does mean more work... and more smell. Keep that in mind. Your parents will not like the smell! More birds also mean more noise. I like hearing them sing, but sometimes they all start and don't want to stop. It gets a bit annoying then. And when they get sick, it's an expensive trip to the vet, and then round the clock care until they're well.

How old are you? Have you proven yourself to be responsible with your dog? If your parents see that you can handle that responsibility (and perhaps other jobs around the house that you do without being asked), they may see that you can handle more, and let you have the bq!
