Quails are like anything or anyone, they all have different personalities. Many who know me on this board know that we have very tame Bobwhites, Chukar Partridges and a very, very sweet & tame Button Quail named Sweetpea. Most of our Button Quails are somewhat wild and have free run together in our birdroom. Sweetpea was handraised from day one when he was the only one who was hatched from some eggs in an incubator. Tame quails and partridges are awesome pets but are very needy for attention(some can be extremely tame but don't like to be picked up either...instinct tells them to flee when being restrained, like a predator attack). The best way to enjoy any of these birds is to respect their likes and dislikes(most do not like to be handled....there are definate exceptions) and enjoy them for their unique individual characters. Having saying this, I better go cuddle Sweetpea...he is definately a quail that loves to be cuddled and loved!!!
