Hi,

Yes, we have had good daddy quails and not so good daddy quails. I think you will just have to play it by ear. You can continue as is, and hope daddy gets the idea to leave mom alone. Or, since it seems that your female has had a change in disposition, and you want her to continue to sit on the eggs, you may need to remove her mate. Otherwise, she may get frustrated and give up sitting. You might want to divide the cage and keep daddy close by, and he may perhaps will be able to help care for the chicks when they hatch. Of course, he may not care for them and could possibly attack them. If you try this, you will need to keep a close eye on them. The easiest thing would probably be to have a heat lamp available to warm the chicks when they hatch. Good luck!
