I think they're plenty old enough, but in the past when I have given worms to chicks, I have cut the worms into a few pieces to get them used to them. When the chicks are full sized they can have a full-sized worm.

Oh yes, mealworms are high in fat, so I think it's a good idea to limit an adult button to 5-6 worms per day.
