I have found buttons given their smaller size and less yolk in the eggs do need to eat within 24hrs. I've left some overnight to have them attack other hatching chicks and pick them bald. I remove buttons within a few hours of hatching or if they are found mostly dry the next morning. Quail will generally choose to eat immediately upon drying unlike chicken chicks who will often refuse food for 24-48hrs because they don't need it.
