Subject: How Many?

My soon to be wife loves exotic and unusual meals. I have been raising button quail for years and thought, heck why not? Have any of you eaten any of your "pets" and if so how were they? I was thinking about "dispatching" of a dozen or two and slapping them on the grill. Would it be best to marinate or just shishkabob? Any help would be appreciated.
