Thank you so much- I have a mirror in his cage and some fleece in the corner with pine shavings that he nests down into sort of like when he takes a sand bath. He likes to sleep there and I have been leaving on a lamp for him like you suggested. He tolerates my hand in the cage really well and isn't afraid unless I try to hold him. I doubt if he will ever let me hold him and not be terrified since the kids abused him that way :( I just worry that he is lonely and that he is calling out more to find others like himself. Maybe I am over thinking it.
