Subject: Kind of off-topic question.

This isn't a button-centric post, but I know some people here keep other quail besides Chinese painteds.

I wanted to get some chickens for the garden, but it turns out they're legal in every surrounding city but mine. (Why, Schenectady, why? Why does Troy have something you don't?!) I figured a quail tractor would work just as well as a chicken tractor, but I'm a little hesitant to put my tiny buttons outside, and figured coturnix quail would be a safer choice. Problem is, I know jack-squat about other species of quail, other than that they -can- be kept in coveys without bloodshed.

Is there a good resource out there for people just getting interested in coturnix? Like a japonica version of Jodi or Garrie's sites? Everything I've found focuses on raising them for meat and eggs, and I just want them as pets.
