Subject: Male and Female Fighting

I've only ever kept single buttons, so I don't know what's normal for a male/female pair. They're fighting all the time! The male seems to pick on the female a lot, and when he's not chasing her she'll be attacking him.

He will feed her treats, and they do sometimes cuddle in the PM, and I've seen them mating, but otherwise they seem to be at each others' throats!

I thought they were stressed due to cramped quarters, but I've just moved them into big new cage made from a 106qt sterilite container (thanks for all the DIY tips I got here) and they're still going at it!

I plan to add more hiding spaces (an aside: anyone know of a good mail-order website for silk/fake plants?) but should I separate them? I could put in a screen divider so they can see each other but can't attack. Any insight/advice appreciated.

Thanks!
