Subject: Female Life span

Hey guys,
I was wondering, would my female who has never layed an egg have a longer life span? She is about one year old or so and shes had some bad experiences with aggressive room mates so she never got the chance to lay. Shes now with a new guy and they seem happy together, will she start laying sometime soon?
