Hi Sandra,

You need to keep separating your birds until the pecking stops. We had a couple, a few weeks after she had hatched chicks, where the male started pecking his mate. We separated him three separate times, for long periods of time--at least a week or more each time. Every time he was returned to the cage, he would peck her again. (He actually was pulling out feathers.) The third time he was isolated for quite some time. When he was finally returned to the cage the third time, he didn't peck and hasn't since. You need to keep the birds separated, and for longer periods of time. If the female is bringing blood, then the male needs to be isolated until he heals. She will keep pecking the bloody spot. It sounds as if you're saying she is pecking him because he is disturbing her from sitting on her eggs. If this is the case, and you don't necessarily want chicks, then remove the eggs every day. That may curb her aggressiveness. Hope this helps!

Rhonda
