Hey Joy, I would definately think that it's a good thing she isn't laying. Females would definately have a longer life span if they don't lay eggs, as the act of creating the egg depletes her bodys resources. Still offer her calcium, like oyster shell etc, but it's no bad thing if she doesn't start to lay, although once she settles with her new beau she may well start to lay (How many times can I use the word lay in one post? Rofl!! The more times you say it/read it, it just sounds weird!!)
