Instead of buying more adults I am considering to let one of my females sit on a few eggs. She sat so steadily on hardboiled eggs last summer that I think she would do it. (And they are constantly laying, this one even laid eggs every other day all winter. They are now about a year old by the way.) But since I know I will have to separate her and the babies from the rest of the gang I didn't do it last year. I was thinking about building an extra "cage" within the aviary for that so I don't have to take her out and separate her and the babies completely from the others. Do you think that would work, and how long would I have to have the babies separated from the other adults?
