Subject: Calcium?

Does anybody of you used liquid calcium for the buttons, and if yes, which brand and how much?

I noticed that the eggs of one of my girls have a very thin shell lately. Her eggs used to be always very firm with good shells (and she had chicks hatching last summer) but now after laying less over the last couple months she is laying daily again, but the eggs break very easily and the color also turned from a solid beige to a beige-ish green-ish...
The eggs of my other button female are very firm and don't break at all.

Both females have access to grit and bird sand with oyster shells (finch size), but I don't give calcium in the water. Now I wonder why one female's eggs aren't as hard. Maybe she doesn't eat as much of the grit mix and calcium in the water would be better?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Ursula
