Some are more nervous than others I've found. I have some that I've never tried to tame and they come right over to me when I feed and give them water. They don't really mind when I handle them either. As a general rule, BQ's do not like to be handled, however, once in a while you might find one that doesn't mind and you can really make a pet out of them.

I guess my experience is some birds just won't be tamed and will never warm up to humans. Sorry, that's probably not the answer you want. If I were you, I'd keep trying.
