Thanks Diane,
Maybe I will also try putting him closer to our presence all the time or even in my bedroom, so he will get used to me and see me as not a predator. Im also planning on introducing him to my somewhat tame female quail. My quail hen, which I raised from a chick is not afraid of me. She is quite sweet and cuddly and when I walk near her cage or put my hand in she will lie over with her head tilt and "peep" "peep" "peep"...how polite she is to greet me each time. :) However, what is so disappointing is that almost always during the period when she is not laying any eggs (for what reason I dont know as diet and lighting is the same) she becomes totally untame. She would chirp angrily at me and try to run away from my hand....go figure.. It is a mystery to me and I find it unfortunate that she cant remain sweet and tame and would go through these "cycles".
