Subject: Im new to birds so I am a bit confused

Hello everyone my name is Chelsea,I live in Wisconsin and I just bought my fist Button Quail. I have named her button (I know not really creative) but I have some concerns about her do to my lack of bird knowledge. I have owned a bird before he was a peach Ferd Conner (I bet i did not spell that right) but that was my moms bird when I was like 4 I hated that bird it scared me because of his beak and squawking. So I decided to get something smaller for my first bird and I went to work and saw some people selling quails and pigeons so I decided to get one and see how it goes. Well my mom found this site and we read the basic break down.
Because this is my first bird I decided to come here and ask some questions. I have and had many experiences about animal care since I own 8 chickens, 5 horses, fish, 1 dog, 4 cats, and have cared for squirrels, raccoons, and kittens.
I should really get to the point and ask some questions.

question 1: how much noise do these little guys make the first night which was last night she was quiet and only made a slight whistling noise but I have a feeling she is just warming up.

Question 2: it is OK to only have 1 or should I go and get another as company if so should it be another female or should I get a male. (I do not want baby's).

Question 3: Can I keep her outside or is that a definite no no.

question 4: How long will it take for her to get used to humans. I bought her from a group of 20-30 others so I am guessing she has not had to much human contact do to her Boink factor going off every time I try to catch her from her 10 gallon tank. My mom has clipped her wings so she does not fly to high any more.
