Chelsea, your hen should lay eggs, whether she is with a male or not. The eggs would not be fertile, of couse, but there should still be eggs from her. Is she not laying while she is alone? Are you giving her extra calcium (boiled egg with the shell is fine)? What kinds of sounds does she make? Are they different from the male? And you have seen her and the male mate before her head wound? I'm still wondering if she is indeed a female.
