I can't remember how big the tanks we have are. I think they're something like 4 feet by 2 feet and then 2 feet high. I kept, at most, four buttons in one of them. As to suitable food, "high protein gamebird feed" is pretty much all I know. You want to get the feed with the highest percentage of protein you can. Also, I would suggest freezing the food when you get it, as many bags have some sort of bugs in it that can be a real pain inside the house.

I have only ever given my buttons cucumber. They love that stuff. I'm not sure about any other vegetables though.

On our tanks, we have a screen top that gives about an inch or so when they boink. We've never had a problem with injuries in the tanks.

All colors are equally healthy. You should just see which ones you like more.

I never take my birds to the vet. We did once when something really weird was happening to one of our females, but other than that, they should be fine.
