Subject: Are Japanese Quail Females Quiet?

Hello everyone! I live in Japan (but not Japanese!) and I noticed they have female Japanese (coturnix) Quail at our local pet store. They are adults and probably not tame, but I am thinking about adopting one because I have a lot of free time (and patience!) right now to try taming.

Although a very young chick would be more appropriate for taming, I can't risk having a male in our apartment so I feel this might be a good option for me. I have heard of some success stories so I am hoping I might be successful too. And even unsuccessful, I would love her just the same.

Are female Japanese Quail pretty quiet? Noise is a big thing here so I have to be careful what little feather babies I choose. At least until we can afford a house someday. (>_<)"

Thanks so much!!!
