Subject: Female Attacks Male?

I have had my female and male for a few months now and everything has been going really well till yesterday. I checked on them to find the male had all the feathers missing from one side of his face, blood on his neck and one eye closed. Further observation showed that the female is attacking him.

When I seperate them they're miserable. When I put them together he's not safe. When I keep them in seperate cages beside each other they call to each other and she tries to get at him. What can i do?

Also what can i do for him? The bleeding has stopped and he can walk now but he is still weak. I cant open his eye so i don't know what's wrong with it.

Thanks in advance :)
