So sorry for your loss. There are others that have been on the board that may be able to answer your question. I do know from keeping buttons myself(loose in avairy and bird room) is that aggression can happen so fast and if the harassed quail can't find good cover, it can be bad news. I generally have some aggression but fortunately, there are enough hiding places etc. and often, the ones fighting, will get along later, go figure. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss and I'm hoping that others from the board can offer advice.
