Subject: Two males?

So, a while back I incubated a batch of 12 button quail eggs. Only one hatched. He is definitely a male and I can tell because he has a very distinguished bib. However, I read that button quail have a hard time with being alone, and I proceeded to find someone who could sell me a female button to live with him. I did, and I drove a ways to pick her up. Now seeing them live together (after a week), she pecks at him sometimes, hasn't layed any eggs, I don't see any mating behavior, and she even has a slight bib. Do you think I may have bought another male?
