Subject: My first quail.

I just got 5 button quail today for 20 dollars, they're 3/4th grown. I'm keeping them in a ferret nation cage I have altered with hardware net, I'm not sure if I need to "boink proof" the top of my cage yet, I would really hate to since the view of them is best from the top. I'm also worried about how to supplement their diet. I couldn't find gamebird feed at petsmart, they may have just been sold out, not sure, they have dove and quail bird seed but it's just a bunch of mixed seed and doesn't look to have much nutritional value to it. Looking for alternative solutions. I've heard ground up cat food, but I use Blue Wilderness food for my cats which is much higher in protein then their suggested 30%. I could buy different cat food separately for the birds.. sigh.. Not quite sure what to do yet.
