I fed my quail mashed up chicken pellets mixed with quail seed.
You can also feed them egg food, which is available at most pet stores.
Another thing you can do if one of your quails is a female and laying, is boil all the eggs she lays and mash them up and feed them right back to her.
Quails like fresh food too.
But NO avacado.
