They usually make the nest in a corner and make a circle down to the bottom of the cage. What are you using for bedding? I use pine shavings eith hay over them. They love using the hay for the nest. I have 6 hens who sit on their own eggs now.

The eggs are shades of green, brown and I even had one have a bluish egg recently. They usually have brown speckles on them. Relative to the size of bird they are they lay the largest egg of any bird.
