Yes, please stop feeling guilty! Take your smart daughter-in-law's advice! You"re new at this, and you're right, we learn from our mistakes. Almost everyone on this board has had a tragedy of some sort with their buttons, and we've all learned what to do and what not to do because of it. So, yes, this is a learning experience, and a very painful one at that! But won't it be fun to hatch out new chicks and see who their parents are? And build an even better home for them? And what about the observations of your grandchildren: Nana has a tender heart, but she is also a fighter!!! She perseveres when the chips are down! Hang in there!
