Subject: Quail Calls

Hi,
I just got two chicks and i'm confused by the certain "calls" they make. Now I know that adult males will sometimes make a growling noise or gushing noise which hens never make, but I noticed that the chicks can make loud calls that sound like my hen. Sometimes, not often, my hen will make calls that sound like pew pew pew three to five times in a quick succession. I just heard my two chicks making similar calls that sounds like a hen. Does this mean that I have two female chicks as well or is it that all chicks regardless of gender make this same call like a hen?? Thanks..
