Ironically, I have given mini mealworms to them after 15 days old and at first they all gobble it up like its so yummy. The hens will eat it after i leave but the male especially dares to take it right out of my hand. It is only within these two days that the male refuses and isnt even aware of the worm in my hand as he keeps jumping and trying to escape like my hand is a predator. He was all crying for help and trying to find a way to escape once I put my hand in. He doesnt even want the mealworms anymore either.. :( Oh well, i'll see what happens as he matures. Oh, by the way, does anyone know at around what week the male will have its full plumage. He is in his fourth week now and barely has a bib at all except for a dark outline under the chin. I heard he is supposed to be a red breasted but the breast remains the same color as a chick and the back is pretty much all dark. Do you know when it will start to show? Thanks.
