I was bitten by "the bug" long ago. I taught myself to solder in 1971, built my first electronic kit in '72, got my ham radio license in '76, started working in a TV repair shop in '78, started working as an engineering technician in '80, and worked my way up to software engineer since then. I've built devices using integrated circuits, transistors, and vacuum tubes. I've finally accepted that I don't suffer from some strange mental disorder. Actually, I quite enjoy it.

Now who is infecting whom?

Most importantly, though, I have a fiancee who is very understanding of my quirks. That makes big difference!

But for now, I'll pass on your offer. I live in a mobile home and I have to be ruthless about not acquiring new junk, um, collectibles. If my daughter hadn't moved out and left a vacant bedroom a few months ago, I wouldn't even have George.

But all the same, thank you.
