Subject: I need advice!

Hi all!

Over the weekend, Spazy developed what I thought was a bloodied wing. Turns out, his anal area is bloodied and crusted over.

I've spent about 5 min. running his behind under warm water to soften the crusted blood and I applied Polysporin around it. It's almost like his anal area is plugged up yet he's still pooping.

I placed a lamp in his cage and he won't even go near it. He's on the other end of his cage. I've picked him up and placed him under the lamp even though I placed it over his bed and he wants nothing to do with it.

The thing is, after I finished washing his behind and placed the polysoporin on it, he didn't seem the same. I immediately placed him in his cage with the bulb but now he's just at the corner of his cage.

I will put more of the ointment on his behind tomorrow morning and if there's no improvement, then I will take him to the vet's.

This almost reminds me of impacted fecal matter with a dog where you have to squeeze their behind like a pimple to get rid of impacted fecal matter.
