You are refering to dogs' anal glands located on either side just inside the rectum and that have their small own opeings on either side of the recum and often become full and impacted. Birds do not have these and I would NOT
recommend squeezing at the delicate tissue back there in case it is a prolapse. Cleaned and medicated should be enough.
