I agree, you must move them with the hen to a smaller, more quiet environment. Begin by moving the hen and chicks into a smaller cage. Watch carefully to make certain the mom is broody and keeps them warm. If she doesn't have much need for them, you'll need to set up a light and get the temperature up to 95 deg.

As far as cleaning the cage, it just depends. I've had hens go right back to brooding and I've had some that totally abandon. You should be able to tell what type she is in a couple of days.
