Subject: Update on our babies

Hey everybody,

I'm holding the "button" fort down fairly well! Our third chick that hatched took forever and came out with a curled foot. I taped that little foot and by Saturday morning, it was fine. This chick was about 12 hours (or maybe more) younger than the other two, and I was worried for a while, but yesterday he seemed very strong and fiesty. I was out for about 2 hours today, and when I came home, he was very weak, lifting his head backwards, and opening and closing his mouth. The tiny thing died a short while later in my hand. I have no idea what happened. I called Thomas, but he couldn't give me any miraculous cure. I've watched the other two like a hawk. Hopefully, they will keep maturing. I had a little friend (age 9) here with me, and she helped me bury him. (Something new for me; I always make Thomas do it.)
