So sorry to hear that you've lost more chicks, it doesn't sound good. It could very well be a genetic defect or again, possibly incubation, hatching, humidity issues. It's very strange indeed. I know that incorrect humidity can lead to dehydrated chicks, but that is strange as they were all close to the water bowl & would have had enough time to drink a bit. I'm now very wary of giving water with a dropper to any birds or chicks, it's very easy for them to accidently take water into their lungs, but sometimes it seems so desperate you know they need to drink. I don't think it sounds like anything you could have avoided, especially if it was a problem during incubation or hatching, most times the chicks will die before they are a few days old. I really am stumped on this one.
