Subject: night thrashing??

Yikes!! Our little buttons are crashing and thrashing and making a huge ruckus at night. At first, I thought something was trying to get into their cage and attack them (that's how violent it sounds). When we go out to peek, they're just sitting there like nothing happened. First... we had one button (lonely little guy after his pen mates died - one from a broken leg and another ???). We heard the noises with him just alone. Now we have a new pair (young ones) in there with him and the same violent crashing sounds are coming at night and only at night. Does anyone know what is going on? (it's dark - no lights)
